Why does your company call 9-seater van for 11-seater van?

9-seater van is the standard & cheapest car for 1-7 passengers.
Some people asked “Can we get the cheaper car by switching with smaller size?”
Unfortunately, our reply is “No”.

In Korea, this car (called GRAND STAREX manufactured by HYUNDAI MOTOR) price is just 20% more expensive than normal sedan (let’s say HYUNDAI SONATA with 2,000CC engine). As a travel agent, no need to buy normal sedan because normal sedan cannot accommodate 1) more than 3 people (except for the driver) and 2) more than 2 travel luggage.

If you look the photo below, the total number of seats is 11. Therefore, we need to call this car as 11-seater van. But, because our clients need to bring the travel luggage, the 4th row seat should be folded for the luggage space.

Also, our company doesn’t allow the client sit on the middle seats* on 2nd, 3rd row. Therefore, assuming you carry the travel luggage, the suitable number of seats is 5 (one person next to the driver, two people on the 2nd row and two people on the 3rd row. But, if you travel without the big luggage…for example, NAMI ISLAND DAY TOUR…additional two people can sit on the 4th row. Then, the total number of passengers including the driver is 9. That’s why we call this van as 9-seater van.

*But, your children can sit here.
